Why we exist

Buying a rise and recline chair, an adjustable bed or a mobility scooter is not like buying a kettle. Specifications are hard to compare, the terminology is unfamiliar, and it isn't always clear which questions to ask. Many people only research these products once, often while managing something else difficult.

We've done the research, so you can compare your options and move forward with confidence.

What we are

Wellstead Compared is a comparison and matching service. We publish independent guidance on product types, features and aftercare, and we introduce people to relevant providers who can answer questions directly.

What we are not

We are not a retailer or a manufacturer. We do not hold stock, sell products or supply equipment. We don't claim to compare every provider in the UK, and we don't discuss prices — what we do is help you ask better questions and compare fairly.

How we're funded

Our service is free for you to use. Providers pay us when we introduce them to someone researching a product they supply. That funding pays for the research and guidance we publish.

What's coming next

We're starting with rise and recline chairs, motorised adjustable beds and electric mobility scooters. Over time we plan to add stairlifts, walk-in baths, bath lifts and home lifts, using the same approach: explain it clearly first, then help you compare.
